DIY Handmade Paper Wrapped Vases

Plain vases or candle holders can get an easy and inexpensive makeover with just a simple wrap of natural handmade paper. Wrapped paper vases are chic, simple and more importantly entirely inexpensive to make for the DIY bride. You could also use empty cans, tins, jars, bottles….

The great thing about this DIY project is that it doesn’t have to only be used for the wedding! You can reuse these over and over again in your home. They are cost effective enough that you can create a different one for each room in your home if you’d like, as well as use them for your wedding. Not only are the extremely affordable, but they are very quick and easy to make.

Instructions

  1. Visit your local stationery or craft store and choose your paper – or order extra paper from your wedding stationer to tie in with your invitations or theme.
  2. Measure and cut the paper to the right height for your tall, straight-sided glass with a craft blade or scissors. Leave the top edge irregular by cutting it with craft scissors or cut it straight.
  3. Thoroughly paint the back of the paper with a nontoxic paper glue (ask the craft store for a suitable glue to use for the paper on the surface its going). Be sure the adhesive goes all the way to the edge.
  4. Smooth the paper around the glass vase. Press firmly as you go to remove air bubbles. Let dry before using.
